OUR BELIEFS
Having accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as our personal Savior and having been baptized on profession of faith, we covenant with each other as a family of God.
Our mission is taken from Luke 4:18-19
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord."
Equipped and empowered by the Spirit of the Lord to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every man, woman, boy and girl. (Ephesians 4:11-12)
We believe that we are indwelled with the life-changing power of the Gospel through acts of service and love not only to each other but to the world. (Romans 1:14)
We believe that the Holy Scriptures are the Word of God and our only rule of faith and practice. We seek to be persons who are firmly rooted in the Word of God so that it is the foundation of our faith, life, and ministry. (2 Timothy 2:15)
We seek to care for individual people as well as the community; to share each other's joys and bear each other's sorrows; to support the ministry of our church through our participation; to continue in prayer, always giving thanks; to contribute our resources and ourselves to the spread of the gospel here and around the world; to provide spiritual nature and Christian education for all who come under our watch-care; to work toward the goal of salvation for all and the establishment of the Kingdom of God; to trust in the Lord; and to be faithful in our discipleship by the grace of God. (1 John 3:11-19)
We seek to be found faithful when He comes! (Revelation 22:12)

OUR CHURCH HISTORY

Greater Faith, Church of the Open Door was founded on October 20, 2008, by the grace of Almighty God using His vessels Pastors Robert and Alice Lewis. It was founded based on the promise that “Jesus Christ is Lord,” and that God has so much more for us than meets the eye.
The name of the church originated through vision and revelation. A continuous vision of having greater faith was given to Pastor Alice. The Word of God constantly reminded her that:
“…without faith it is impossible to please him:”; that without faith, God’s people would surely perish, and with faith “all things are possible” with God. (Hebrews 11:16)
God revealed to Pastor Rob in a dream that he would minister to various tribes of people.
He also gave Pastor Rob the passage in Revelation 3:7-8 that refers to the Church of Philadelphia, which was a church that had a compassionate heart for souls and God granted them an open door to minister to even more souls! The vision of faith and the revelation of an open door, came together to form what the Lord established, Greater Faith, Church of the Open Door, which is comprised of a great diversity of people!
The church began with a handful of saints, each having a greater desire than church as usual. And God has since honored that earnest desire. Since that humble beginning, God has prospered Greater Faith beyond our expectations. The Bible loudly proclaims:
“…eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” (1Corinthians 2:9)
With imagination and inspiration, we wait on the Lord to see where He will lead us next!
Greater Faith has been embraced, loved and cared for by so many other ministries that share the same vision, passion, desire and goal for God’s Kingdom; and that is to see others brought out of darkness into His marvelous light. We truly thank God for that! Working diligently with His saints, we have seen wondrous miracles of healing! We have witnessed the awesome salvation of souls! We have seen lives grow in marvelous victory! We have seen the Lord restore what was stolen! Most of all, we have seen faith increased in the saints of God!
Through evangelistic efforts such as Piercing the Darkness and Soul Harvest, we have witnessed the saving of souls and lives reclaimed for the glory and the Kingdom of God. We have yet to see what God will do or what we will become. By God’s grace and mercy, Greater Faith will continue walking by faith and not by sight in His will and in His way!
We are not your traditional church and we are not church as usual. We are filled with God’s Spirit, led by His Spirit and taught by His Spirit! To God Be the Glory for the Things He has Done and Will Continue to Do!
